Teacher Mustache
It was my first day as a teacher in Kids Church and our head teacher introduced me to the kids. And then one kid suddenly shouted, " Teacher, why do you have a mustache?" For a moment, I felt that all eyes were on me and that they wanted me to say something. I felt so humiliated but I managed to smile. I thought I heard God saying, " I love these little kids Darz. And since you love me, you'll learn to love them too." I interacted with the kids and tried to have fun until another kid blurted out, "Teacher Mustache! Teacher Mustache!". But this time, I was more calm and more poised.
It was indeed a memorable experience for me. I reflected and asked myself why did I join Kids church in the first place. God reminded me of His desire for me to teach. No matter how I ran away from that calling, God would always bring opportunities for me to again realize that the ability to teach is one of His gifts to me. And that through Kids Church, I can maximize the use of this gift.
I learned so much from that experience. It made me realize why I was in kids church up until now. I witnessed God's heart for the kids. He even made me realize how important it is for older people to set an example in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. At first, I thought it was never easy to love others. But it's possible to love them if you have experienced God's love.
I LOVE GOD. I also LOVE THE KIDS.
By the way, I started going to a wax salon after that incident. :))
But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14)
hahaha, nice one! i must say, only a very secure woman could share that anecdote! :)
